I have actually just decided to write this Blog Post right now as something that has just happened, has made me change my mind as to what I was originally going to post this week.
Due to an issue that I had to deal with yesterday and dissolve it has had me really assessing time. Time is something I have really thought about a lot these last few years, when I looked back at my life and realised how much of it I felt I had lost, wasted and squandered all due to the decisions I made in my life.
This is not something I am talking about negatively but with such clarity and thankfulness that I am now at this wonderful stage in my life where I value absolutely every single thing.
My precious time being one of them. I cannot get back all those years but what I can get and do have is the present moment and how I choose to spend that time.
So lets go into depth with this in our 7 Days of Principle and list 7 ways you can value yourself and your time.
Be true to yourself
Set aside time for what you love
Give your time freely to those you love, to those in need
Give extra time when you are at work. So what if you are dealing with someones issue and it is 5 30pm and you are still on the phone and it is 5 35pm. Just because you are not getting paid past that time really does it matter. We have such a bad service industry where most people are not giving and are so selfish that they are just in their own little world.
Where Does Your time go?
When was the last time you checked in with yourself. The reason I personally do not like the Word, Busy is because it is just so over used. Busy doing what?
Are you Busy – Productive Busy
Or just busy because that is what you think you are because you cannot schedule your time properly and you are just busying around trying to get the famous To Do List done.
Well the list never gets done. Because theres always another day and another thing to add to the list.
When I am discussing Time, it is in the sense of Energy. Where is your time going as you are expending precious energy. It is satisfying, fruitful, eventful.
Of course we all come up with challenges daily, hourly, weekly. But the fundamental question you need to just ask yourself
Is this something that I am going to expend my precious energy and time into?
Its a simple Yes or No
I feel this is something we should continue with next week. Let me know how you feel about that in the comments. I really would love your feedback.
It is certainly something that I consider extremely important especially in these times when most people seem to be running around in circles around the clock.
I look forward to continuing this. Now its time for a cup of tea and stepping back to continue reading my Book of the Week.
After all, all we have is Time. Use it wisely as it feels like its moving pretty fast.
