The aim of my blogs is to bring you a different, diverse range of topics, subjects, life lessons, that I have learnt along the way and a range of products.

Amongst, this also a variety of different issues we all face on our 7 Days Of Principle.

We are lucky to live in a time where we are connected digitally so my aim is to always bring something useful and positive.

This week, we are discussing Non-Toxic Deodorants.  Living a chemical free lifestyle as much as I humanly possibly, can is incredibly important to me and no matter how big or small you may think an issue is in regards to this, making small changes to your life really makes a difference.

So, if you have not made the switch already changing your deodorant to a chemical-free, non-toxic, additive free product can greatly benefit your health.

With the skin being the largest organ and the lymph in your armpits as well as other parts of your body, you really do want to protect and not clog up your armpits with nasty toxins.  The lymph is there to protect the body against viruses and bacteria.

As with anything it is initially making the change and then trying out for yourself what suits you accordingly.

It was my mum who actually introduced this change for me years ago with the Crystal Deodorants you can purchase at your local Health Food Store.  Unfortunately, this never really worked sufficiently for me but is highly recommended by many users.

Something else I have tried but does not suit me is the Aurelia Cream Deodorant.  This actually really works but personally, I am not a fan of cream deodorants. I just do not like the concept. That is what variety is all about though.

So to what I use now. I have always been drawn to brands in my life that are Niche and generally have a powerful message and vibe, are effective and have an ethos I can relate to. I love to know the story behind a brand, not just something that is mass marketed.

Modern Botany

Modern Botany is one such product. Not only is this a deodorant but it is actually the first of its kind multi-functional product which is an antiperspirant and deodorant.

  • It is 100% Natural
  • Free From  Aluminium
  • Free From Parabens
  • Anti-microbial
  • Astringent and deodorising.

It is not just unique in its incredible formulation but in combination with the natural ingredients, it works.  I love it.  Modern Botany was founded by two ingenious and lovely gentlemen, Simon and John, who are incredibly smart in bringing us this effective unisex product. And raising the awareness of much needed and sought after quality natural products.

It is a product that has been inspired by the principles of botanical science and utilises the top natural ingredients that are sourced from Ireland where it was founded as well as other natural ingredients from around the world.

The packaging is seamless, tasteful slick, chic, and harmonises the clean, ethical and natural company they have built. The smell is divine, so clean crisp and fresh. This is also a lovely alternative for someone that prefers a spray to a roll on.

I am a huge fan of Content Beauty Wellbeing and for anyone new to this store it has an amazing array of products.  Modern Botany can be purchased there.

Agent Nateur & Shiva Rose

Another product I use is Agent Nateur, I use the Shiva Rose, holi rose one because really anything with Shiva Roses name on it in the quest for Health is a must as far as I am concerned. Apart from the fact, I love the smell of roses.

I actually first saw this product on a post my girlfriend Elyse from Los Angeles did on Instagram before it launched in the UK and I am so happy we have it here now. Yes, you guessed it this can also be bought at Content Beauty Wellbeing.

I actually love this product so much I wish I could just rub it all over my body but it is a deodorant, not a body rub.  It smells so divine they should, in fact, make it into a body rub.

The smell is intoxicating, sexy and is a mixture of sandalwood and Rose which is heart opening.

This product is

  • Non-Gmo
  • Pesticide Free
  • Food Grade Ingredients

If, for any strange reason you are not a fan of the smell of roses there are other sticks in the range.

Schmidts Fragrance Free

Finally, we come to Schmidts.  Another effective wonderful brand. I actually first purchased the Bergamot and lime but found myself allergic to the essential oil so the company sent me this one which being Fragrance-Free I am fine with. It is so important that companies listen to their customer and have good customer relations in a world where we are surrounded by so much choice. I am always drawn to such companies as you can feel confident in your purchases.

Another natural product which has

  • No Aluminium
  • No Propylene Glycol
  • Certified Vegan
  • Gluten Free

If you have not tried any of these brands it is always a good suggestion to patch test first.

As always, I intend to bring you everything that is tried and tested and what I believe in.  Price ranges differ, so if you have not made the switch and are definitely keen to make a 7-day switch but are on a budget then start with your local health food store. Try the Crystal deodorant first and then see from there.

So at least for this week try something new.  Research for yourself your current deodorants ingredients and try one of these for the 7 Days. Once you start to understand how harmful these deodorants are for you and your family you may just be inclined to make this simple switch.
