The Recycled Candle Company

I was recently in Exeter Devon, and came across a new shop. I absolutely love candles and so was intrigued as to this new shop which looked very interesting.

Having, met one of the owners who was super friendly and told me all about how this little shop came about.

As, with anything in life if you have passion and drive and a vision.  Well anything is possible.

Recycled Candles

It all started with his business partners idea of recycling wax from candles that had been previously used and burnt down to the bottom basically. These were salvaged from churches and hotels.

So the whole day is spent recycling and pouring candles.

I love the fact that each candle you purchase comes with a little card that has a meaning and reading to it.

For instance the Lavender and Rock salt card is

Then the breeze died too and there was no noise save the drip and title of water tat ran out of clefts and spilled down, leaf by leaf, to the brown earth of the island.

The air was cool, moist and clear, and presently even the sound of the water was still

-William Golding

Why should two hearts in one break lie,

And yet not lodge together?

O Love! where is thy sympathy,

If thus our breasts thou sever?

– Sir John Suckling

Candles symbolise so much in life. We have them on birthday cakes, in all sorts of ceremonies.

And each time you light one it symbolises something very sacred and private to each individual.

I truly love coming across individual niche brands of everything I purchase.

Being a detail person this really is such a lovely brand and shop.

Be sure to check them out if you are in town.

As always love Saskia. xxx

Would be wonderful to hear back from you and please let me know what new places, you have discovered lately.
